Garstang Goes On Air With Preston FM 103.2

Preston FM will be out and about all summer, visiting six different venues in and around Preston - and we'd love you to come along and get involved.
We're taking our studios to Leyland, Ingol, Ribbleton, Garstang and Moor Park, before ending up in the City Centre with a special fortnight of celebrations to mark our second birthday as a full-time community radio station.

We'll be in each venue for two full weeks, and we'll be broadcasting our regular programmes live from each location as well as running special workshops, training sessions and drop-ins for anyone who fancies coming in and having a go at radio.

We'd love to hear from you if you live in any of the communities we'll be visiting - especially if you've got a story to tell or are involved in a local event or activity that we could help you to promote whilst we're out and about. Keep reading for full details about where we're going to be, and how you can get involved in Preston FM when we visit you this summer.

When are you here?

We'll be camping out in the Discovery Centre on the High Street in Garstang (in the old Tourist Information centre) for this fortnight, and bringing you all the latest from the Garstang Arts and Music Festival as well as meeting people and organisations from the world's first Fair Trade Town. Pop in and see us (during the opening hours below) or book in to one of the workshops we'll be running whilst we're in town by calling 01772 880791:

  • Wednesday 25th August, 2-4pm

  • Wednesday 25th August, 6-8pm

  • Thursday 26th August, 2-4pm

  • Monday 30th August (Bank Holiday), 12-2pm and 4-6pm

  • Saturday 4th September, 12-2pm

Opening Hours

Whilst you need to book for our workshops, which run at specific times, there's no need to book if you want to come and have a look around - you're welcome at any time. Except in Leyland, when opening times will be slightly different, we'll be open to the public in all of the tour venues as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday: 10am to 9pm

  • Friday: 10am to 5pm

  • Saturday: 10am to 4pm

  • Sunday: CLOSED

So drop in, say hello, meet our presenters and find out more about how you can get involved with Preston FM.

Preston FM's "12 Weeks of Summer" project is funded by the Media Trust through the Community Voices programme.
